Cathleen Chow is a visual artist based in Vancouver, Canada. Through illustration and sculpture, Chow explores psychological tendencies and theories relating to humans and nature. A reoccurring theme in her work highlights the concept of the hunter versus the hunted and the ways in which these roles can be reversed. Through notions of natural selection, Chow is able to develop narratives that are playful, yet disturbing. Chow has recently developed an interest in social practices, stemming from concerns regarding her multi-ethnicity. She is currently exploring issues of racial fetishization through painting and text.
